Dear WPCS Families,

I am so excited to be a part of White Pine Charter School.  I received my bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University, a Master's degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University and I have taken numerous classes towards a PhD in Institutional Leadership at the University of California, Riverside. I have a well rounded background in the public and private sector. I have worked as a technical writer, editor, teacher, public school administrator, and sales manager. Prior to my employment with WPCS, I worked as a regional sales manager for a local company. I have been public school administrator in Idaho and California. My wife and I moved our family to Idaho from Southern California in August of 2006. My wife, Idonna, and I are the proud parents of six children. As a family we enjoy running, skiing, and other sports.  Once again, I am thrilled to be working with the parents, staff, board of directors and especially the students at White Pine Charter School.

Steve Bailey
Business Manager

My name is Steve Bailey.   I am married to the most beautiful girl in the world and I have two sons, and a daughter.
I play ice hockey and the only thing better than playing is coaching kids.   So I do both as much as possible.   I am also really good at camping and fishing.......this has not been easy so I have to practice all summer long.   I get great joy from cooking and dancing while I cook.   Usually Sinatra is the playlist and red sauce with red meat.   I read about five books every summer and probably less than five pages during the winter.   Jack Reacher type books.  Stormy by Jim Kjelgaard is my favorite book of all time and Autumn Tiger by Bob Langley is probably second.
My favorite animal is the polar bear and if I could be any animal I would be a wolverine.  I probably most closely resemble Baloo the Bear in stature and personality.
I choose to be a part of White Pine because there is a purpose here and because there are 400 smiling faces everyday.
I still have my Kindergarten Diploma, stop in and introduce yourself sometime and I will show it to you.

Michelle Elsbree

Mrs. Elsbree is entering her 5th year at WPCS.  She loves working with all grade levels on developing social skills, managing mental health concerns, and being college and career ready.  Her favorite part of her job is helping the students develop positive self worth and academic success.  This is done in her office either in 1:1 sessions, in small groups, or as a whole class lesson.  Mrs. Elsbree is actively engaged in classroom learning by teaching classroom lessons on social emotional learning, school wide expectations, and mental health.  She started the Green Dot Student Leadership Club in 2014 in the middle school to help prevent school violence.  She believes that all students deserve equal access to education and serves as the homelessness liaison and 504 coordinator.

Prior to WPCS Mrs. Elsbree worked as a Service Coordinator for developmentally delayed adults and children, was a Residential Counselor for severally and persistently mentally ill adults, and worked as a Crisis Counselor for at risk teens.  She received her master’s degree from Boise State University in Social Work and is currently working on her clinical with Children Support Services in Idaho Falls, Id.

In her free time, Mrs. Elsbree loves to spend time with her family including her husband, 8 year old daughter, three dogs, and her cat.   She loves to play outside hiking, kayaking, and camping.  She is an avid exerciser, or at least she likes to pretend she is, and uses exercise to manage her stress.  If there was one super hero that would best describe Mrs. Elsbree it would have to be Gomora from Guardians of the Galaxy.

I love to be with my family. We love to go camping. I am also really happy to be a grandma. It's the best thing in the world.

I love working at White Pine. I have been at the school for 13 years. I work in the front office and love to see all the kids every day. They are the reason that I love to come to work every day.

I would eat chocolate every day if I could.

I love to read. It's one of my favorite things to do. I couldn't pick just one book, there are to many that I love.

White pine has always been near and dear to me. I have been here since the beginning. All 3 of my girls attended White Pine and loved it.
