Kindergarten
Welcome back to school. We excited to begin a new year. This will be our first experience with half day Kindergarten and half day Core Knowledge Academy. Kindergarten begins on August 26 at 8:30. Remember to be on time. Core Knowledge Academy begins September 7th. During the month of September we learn to write and read student names, review the alphabet letters and sounds and begin reading sight words. We also learn the number from 0-10 and begin measuring while recording data. We will not be sending "paper" or hard copy parent letters home but watch for email messages each week to keep up on what your child is learning in class. Kindergarten homework is 10 minutes of reading each night before going to bed. Nursery Rhymes help children listen for reading patterns so include them in your reading or listen to some fun music which include words that rhyme.
