Thunder nor lightning could stop middle school students and staff members from kicking off the school year at Ammon Pool. A half an hour into the event lifeguards ushered everyone out of the pool for safety reasons. Even with DJ’s playing music, the excitement of the social was expected to come to a screeching halt. This was not the case. White Pine’s PFA passed out treats, a group of students and staff members played a game of volleyball, and there was even a dance off!
Ken Graham, the Vice Principal at White Pine commented on the attendance. “We were expecting about half of our middle school students to show up, but the turnout was much better.”
Students were able to jump back in the pool for the last fifteen minutes and made the most of it. WPCS hopes to make this event a annual tradition.
