Carrie Ford,2nd Grade
Hi my name is Carrie Ford. I am excited to join the White Pine Charter School staff. I have taught school for twenty years and love working with children. I am married with 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Some of the activities I like doing with my grandchildren are hunting for Monarch caterpillars so that we can watch them change into a butterfly. Catching tadpoles, and painting rocks. I love the outdoors and traveling. We have ducks, chickens, horses, dogs and a cat. I love to read books and really enjoy reading to my students. I enjoy doing creative things and hands-on projects.
Here are my answers to some burning questions I’m sure you are all anxious to know:
If I were to describe myself as a teacher in ONE word it would be CARING.
A food I could eat every day is sweet Bing Cherries! I grew up eating them straight from our tree as a kid.
If I could only take one book on vacation, it would be one I haven’t read yet. Or one of my classic favorites such as To Kill a Mocking Bird.
If I could be any animal for a day, it would probably be a big beautiful butterfly. The sight of a butterfly makes me happy. Plus, I could fly around and see the world below me.
I chose to join the White Pine staff because their philosophy of a more rounded education is in line with what I think our students need. I love the Core Kowledge concept and the family like atmosphere that I feel here. I am looking forward to meeting my students and getting to know them. I am anticipating a fantastic year!
