Today, White Pine Charter School administration was notified by health professionals that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 at our elementry building.
Through our contact tracing protocol, we have determined no students and some staff members were exposed. For all COVID-19 cases that impact our schools, we will notify families of all individuals that have had close contact with the person who tested positive.
The staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not return to the school setting until they are cleared by a medical professional. School will continue as normal tomorrow for all other students and staff.
Whenever situations like this arise, additional cleaning procedures are taken to provide another layer of health and safety.
The primary symptoms of COVID-19 include shortness of breath, coughing, and fever or chills. Other symptoms include congestion, sore throat, diarrhea, abdominal pain, body aches, and loss of taste or smell. Anyone who needs medical care should call their healthcare provider to report an illness or exposure to someone with COVID-19 prior to seeking care. Please contact your student’s school office if they begin to experience symptoms.
The health, safety, and well-being of our school community remains our top priority. We are following sound protocols aligned with expert health guidance to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect the health of students and staff. We also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of wearing masks, staying six feet apart from others, and regularly washing your hands.
We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide updates or additional information if any further steps are necessary. If you have questions or need to report a positive case of COVID-19, please do not hesitate to contact Ken Graham (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Devan Tyler (email@example.com) at 208-522-4432.
