Dear WPCS Families,
I am so excited to be a part of White Pine Charter School. I received my bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University, a Master's degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University and I have taken numerous classes towards a PhD in Institutional Leadership at the University of California, Riverside. I have a well rounded background in the public and private sector. I have worked as a technical writer, editor, teacher, public school administrator, and sales manager. Prior to my employment with WPCS, I worked as a regional sales manager for a local company. I have been public school administrator in Idaho and California.
My wife and I moved our family to Idaho from Southern California in August of 2006. My wife, Idonna, and I are the proud parents of six children. As a family we enjoy running, skiing, and other sports. Once again, I am thrilled to be working with the parents, staff, board of directors and especially the students at White Pine Charter School.
I love playing basketball and traveling to Montana. I think drinking pickle juice is incredible.
Any Mexican food
Catcher in the Rye
Labrador retriever (at the lake).
I started as a teacher here just looking for a job without experience. I've continued to work here because I firmly believe in its mission/vision and support school choice.
I love to read, I spend what free time I have devouring a good book. I also play the violin and have a slight obsession with penguins. I will own one of my own someday... I recently started learning about photography and do enjoy taking pictures.
Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss.
I was ready for a change in my life and knew White Pine was the best place to find it. I am grateful to be a part of a great team!!!
I like magic. Like a lot. If you ask me, maybe I'll show you a card trick. And if I practice enough, maybe I won't show you the same trick every time. I also love to read. I read at least a book a week and have done the Extreme Book Nerd challenge at the Idaho Falls library each of the past couple of years.
Detail-Oriented. (I think the hyphen makes that one word...)
KFC mashed potatoes, Lucy's pizza, or a Stockman's steak.
Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. Actually no, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Or maybe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Wait, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. Oh...it would be Going Postal by Terry Pratchett. This is too hard. I guess I'd just bring my Kindle so I don't have to choose.
I was a parent who was looking for a better school for his third grade daughter and kindergarten son and this school seemed like the best opportunity for them to be successful. The school did so much for my kids. I wanted to give back, so a year later I joined the School Board. During that time, I spent three years as the School Board Chair. My term on the Board ended and now I have this new chance to do even more for this school, administration, teachers, and students that I love so much!
I have a degree in Psychology and am fascinated by how the human mind works.
One word to describe me is enthusiastic.
I could eat Pasta every day. YUM!
I like to change up what I am reading and what genres. I would read anything I have not already read.
I would be a Giraffe if I could be any animal. It would be great to be tall for the day!
I love working at White Pine Charter School! WPCS has created an environment where a standard of excellence has been set for both academics and behaviors. The middle school team constantly works together to help every student succeed and is willing to give additional help to any student. I could not ask to work with a better team.
I love to make people laugh. Usually they are laughing at me. :)
I love to dance and sing.
I could eat anything with dark chocolate everyday. I could drink Diet Pepsi or Diet Mt. Dew every day.
A good romance novel. I also like a good new Christmas book every year.
I love working with the children and the parents at White Pine.
I am a firm believer in school of choice and I love the mission/vision of White Pine Charter School.
I love to be with my family. We love to go camping. I am also really happy to be a grandma. It's the best thing in the world.
I would eat chocolate every day if I could.
I love to read. It's one of my favorite things to do. I couldn't pick just one book, there are to many that I love.
White pine has always been near and dear to me. I have been here since the beginning. All 3 of my girls attended White Pine and loved it. I love working at White Pine. I have been at the school for 13 years. I work in the front office and love to see all the kids every day. They are the reason that I love to come to work every day.
