A Strong, Joyful Start to Your Child’s Learning Journey

Choosing the right kindergarten program is a big decision. At White Pine Charter School, our full-day kindergarten program is thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Research shows that children in full-day kindergarten make greater gains in reading and math and enter first grade with increased confidence and independence. At White Pine, we use the additional time not to rush learning, but to deepen understanding, encourage curiosity, and allow children to grow at a developmentally appropriate pace.

What Sets White Pine Apart?

Rigorous Academics, Taught the Right Way
White Pine uses the Core Knowledge curriculum for language arts and Bridges for mathematics—both nationally respected programs. A full-day schedule allows teachers to provide rich instruction through hands-on learning, small-group work, and independent practice. Students are challenged, supported, and engaged throughout the day.

Personalized Learning Through Small Groups
Every day, students participate in mastery groups for reading and math. These small, flexible groups ensure each child receives instruction tailored to their current needs—whether that means extra practice or opportunities for enrichment. As students grow, groups adjust to match their progress.

Engaging Science and Social Studies
Afternoons are dedicated to Core Knowledge Science and Social Studies instruction. Through interactive lessons and hands-on activities, students build background knowledge, vocabulary, and a love for learning about the world around them.

A Well-Rounded School Experience
White Pine kindergarten students enjoy weekly Specials classes, including Art, Physical Education, Technology, Engineering, Music, and Library. These classes are taught by experienced specialists and help students explore their interests, develop creativity, and build new skills.

A Day Designed for Young Learners
Families often wonder if a full day is too much for kindergarteners. At White Pine, our nearly seven-hour day is carefully balanced with movement, breaks, quiet time, and play. Children learn in a calm, supportive environment that honors their developmental needs while maximizing learning time.
